WalMart Round-Up Donations

WalMart now allows on-line customers to participate in a "Round Up" program which allows them to round the total price of their order to the next dollar, with the "extra" being donated to a nonprofit charity of their choosing.  BVCC (The Bella Vista Computer Club) has been in enrolled in this program, so it is now eligible to to be selected for these "round up" donations.  To participate, you must have a WalMart on-line account, set BVCC as your nonprofit charity of choice, and purchase items on-line from either the WalMart website or via the WalMart mobile app.

While the individual donations from round-up are small, like maybe $50 from 100 purchases, it can add up over time.   From November 25, 2022 through December 25, 2022, we had over 20 round-up donations, which was the basis for a special $1,000 grant from WalMart.  Hopefully WalMart may repeat this special grant opportunity in the future.

If you ever buy items from walmart.com on-line, set yourself up with an account, enable it for round-up donations to BVCC, and when you purchase something at walmart.com you have the option to select a round-up donation to BVCC with your purchase.

The easiest way to set your WalMart account to donate to BVCC is to follow this link to WalMart.  This will take you to the Round-Up enable page pre-primed with "The Bella Vista Computer Club".  It should require you to logon to your WalMart account.  Be sure the toggle switch to "Participate in monetary Round Up donations at checkout..." is also turned on.

If you are logged in at walmart.com and want to check your account's "round-up" donation status, you can select "Account" (upper right), "Account" in the menu pull-down list, and "Giving & impact" under the "Manage Account" category.  This will show your total contributions, your preferred charity, and the toggle switch to turn on "round up" donations

The next time you checkout at WalMart, you should see an option to "Round up..." that that you need to "check" to donate the round-up amount to BVCC.  If you don't see the round up option, for some reason something didn't get set up properly.  [I had this problem on my WalMart account, but was finally able to get it working.  The other two parties that have tested this so far didn't have any problems. - jcewing]

The round-up at checkout option is supposedly available when placing online orders using the WalMart app on smart phones and pads.  Unclear whether that has its own setup procedure, since no one at BVCC has tested in that environment.
